Inner Child Work

learn to heal yourself & be the parent you needed

Inner Child Work believes that we have a childhood self within us with unmet needs. When we feel triggered and don’t know why, it may be our Inner Child trying to communicate. By reconnecting with this younger version of yourself, you can find healing through becoming the parent you needed. Inner Child Work can help you find the fun and joy of life again.

Inner Child Work can be used for struggles such as:

  • Childhood Neglect

  • Childhood Trauma

  • Poor self-care

  • Abandonment

  • PTSD

  • Boundaries issues

What is Inner Child Work like?

Reconnecting with your Inner Child can take many forms: using writing, drawing, play, and more. You and your therapist will determine which method may be best for you. It can feel uncomfortable or awkward at first, but the more you talk with your Inner Child, the easier it will become. The work you do with your therapist will be directed by what your Inner Child tells you. Do you need to learn how to set healthy boundaries? How to rest? How to let go and have fun? This will guide the work you do with your therapist.
